Alec Acosta-Vega, Editor in Chief

Alec Acosta-Vega has lived in Auburn, Washington for 12 years. As a kid he switched schools quite frequently, he attended Panther Lake Elementary, Karshner Elementary, Pioneer Elementary, Gildo Rey Elementary, Olympic and Mount Baker Middle School and Auburn High School.

In his free time he enjoys martial arts competitions, traveling, gaming, watching anime, robotics, as well as playing chess. He has gone on some interesting trips such as the one he took last summer. He went to Saint Martin, he says it was “definitely the most unusual. The French control one side of the island, the Dutch control the other.”

Alec also claimed to be a “certified nerd” he had much knowledge in anything about comic books, naruto shippuden and mythology. Something that he has loved to do since he was six is playing chess. The man who taught him most of his chess skills is Mr. Carter who works at Mount Baker Middle School. He says whenever he can visit Mr.Carter he will.

Alec has been on the newspaper staff since his freshman year and was promoted to an be editor his sophomore year during the second semester.

The thing he loves is that “Newspaper isn’t just about the articles, but a chance for people of different cultures, races, genders, beliefs, to come together and work together.”
