Book Review: “Looking for Alaska”

Jessica Boyle

“Looking for Alaska” written by John Green is a drama filled, thrilling novel. The book will make readers feel so many different emotions in such little time. The main characters are Alaska Young, Miles Halter, Chip Martin, Takumi Hikohito, and Lara Buterskaya. All of these characters meet each other at a boarding school and become a well known group around the school. The novel takes readers on many adventures. Each flip of the page offers a new twist. However the author did not always explain what was going on very well. The reader will sometimes have to make an inference about what was happening throughout the book. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone, but especially to young adults. Teens can relate to this book in so many ways. It shows love between people, friendships, and tough times. There are tons and tons of twists and turns. This book is entertaining and has a strong hook to it. Definitely worth the read. The novel takes readers on many adventures.
