“Grease” hits a home run for diversity, inclusivity and equity

The opening night of the current school musical “Grease” proved to be a strong success.  Principal Jeff Gardner attended the opening night and gave it rave reviews.  In a direct email to the troupe of players Gardner wrote, AHS Troupe 17, under your guidance and direction in preparation of “Grease” in my opinion hit a home run for diversity, inclusivity and equity.”  Gardner also cc’ed the message to members of the district staff as well as members of the school’s Equity Team.

Gardner asked Director Dave Cox to let his “incredible students” know that he had noticed that the musical hit “so many intersections for what we are striving towards to improve”

At the end of his message Gardner added, “I am standing and applauding and I will actively promote “Grease” as best I can!”

The show continues next weekend with a performance on Friday, March 13 at 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 14 with performances at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center.
