DECA students qualify for state competition

DECA students qualified for state competition with their projects that they presented at Area Competition at Hazen High School on January 11th, 2020 and are now moving forward. The process of making a State competition starts all the way back to the beginning of the school year in September. There are three different ways of making it to state.

You can qualify either by a 20 page project, 10 page projects, it could also be determined by how you do on your test and roleplay. I qualified on a 20 page project about the food drive.  Depending on how you do at state, you can continue forward for any three categories and compete at Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee. This year most of the DECA class is continuing and moving forward to the State Competition with a total of 32 going.

Kenneth Phan is one of those students moving forward, he has been involved with DECA for two years now, he feels very good about going to Nationals because it is one step closer to Nationals. Kenneth says it took him about a semester to finish his 20 page project.
