Kaup named Special Recognition Adviser by the Dow Jones News Fund

Auburn Adviser Thomas J. Kaup was named as a Special Recognition Adviser for 2015 by the Dow Jones News Fund. The Dow Jones News Fund honors one adviser each year as the High School Journalism Teacher of the year, and eight other advisers for recognition of their exemplary work in high school journalism. Mitch Eden of Kirkwood (Mo.) High School received the highest honor as the Teacher of the Year. Eden will both speak and receive a plaque at the National High School Journalism Convention in Orlando, Florida. Kaup will also receive a plaque at the national convention. The 20 year veteran adviser said he was “honored and humbled to receive the recognition.” Kaup also commented that it was a great tribute for his work at Auburn High School which has one of the few Title I programs receiving accolades in the country. “The students I work with really are the champions,” added Kaup.
